Compulsory vaccinations / stamps are required. We advise participants to go to KLM Health Services or GGD for personal advice! Below is a brief overview of the general advice that is given for Ghana:
The authorities of this country ask for a so-called cholera declaration if you cross the border by land.
- Yellow fever occurs. Vaccination is REQUIRED FOR ALL TRAVELERS.
- Chikungunya and Dengue and the Zika virus occur. For this you need to protect yourself well against mosquito bites during the day.
- There is an increased risk of measles in Ghana. A BMR (Mumps measles Rubella) vaccination is recommended for anyone born from 1965 and not vaccinated against measles or who has had the disease. Vaccination is also recommended for children older than 6 months who have not yet received a BMR vaccination.
- DTP vaccination and Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for anyone traveling to Ghana.
In addition, there are a number of vaccinations that are participant-specific. Therefore, get advice from the GGD or the KLM Health Services.
